Invitations-

What to include

Here’s a simple checklist to ensure your wedding invitations include all the essential details

Your Names

Decide how you want to be addressed:

  • First names only?

  • First and last names?

  • Do you want to include middle names for a formal touch?

The Event

Be clear about the nature of the invitation:

  • Is it for the full wedding day?

  • Is it just for the evening reception?

Date, Time & Venue

Specify to avoid any confusion:

  • Write the date clearly

  • The arrival time or the exact start time for the ceremony or reception.

  • The ceremony location.

  • The reception venue (if different).

Post-Ceremony Details & END TIME

Briefly explain what happens next:

  • For example: “Wedding breakfast and evening reception to follow.”

  • Consider including an approximate end time, especially for evening invitations.

RSVP INformation

Explain:

  • How to RSVP (email, website, or return card).

  • By when they should reply.

  • Don’t forget to ask guests to share any dietary requirements or menu choices if your venue requires.

Invitations-

Additional Information to consider

To make your wedding invitations more personalised and helpful for your guests, consider including the following:

Guest Names

Personalise your invitations by adding the names of those invited.

  • Example: “Dear Katie and Taylor”

    • Pre-print the names on the invitations.

    • Leave a dotted line or space for you to handwrite the names.

  • If you choose this option you can download the spreadsheet template HERE

Who’s Inviting Your Guests?

Decide how you want to word this part based on who is hosting:

  • From the Couple:

    • “Charlotte and Tom invite you to their wedding.”

    With Family Involvement:

    • “Together with their families/parents/children, Charlotte and Tom invite you to their wedding.”

    • This is a meaningful way to acknowledge close family members or friends who have helped with the wedding.

    Traditional Format:

    • “Mr. and Mrs. Smith request the pleasure of your company at the wedding of their daughter Charlotte to Mr. Tom Jones.”

Menu Choices (If Needed)

If guests need to select menu options in advance, you can include this information:

  • On the back of the invitation in a double sided or stacked set.

  • On a separate information card in a pocket fold or stacked design.

  • On the reverse of an RSVP card if you have chosen physical RSVPs it would suit to have the menu on the reverse of this asking gusts to initial next to their chosen menu items.
